Monthly wrap party at Radisson Blu

The Callsheet's parent company, Film & Event Publishing, which also houses The Filmmakers Guide to South Africa and The Event, hosted its September Monthly Wrap Party at the Waterfront’s Radisson Blu Hotel in Granger Bay on Wednesday 30 September 2009.

The weather kept the party indoors but that didn’t stop the numbers from growing to 100-strong. It was defiantly another one for the books. Jacques Stoltz from the Gauteng Film Commission addressed the crowd and introduced the organisation’s latest showreel. The Callsheet took the opportunity to unveil their new website to the industry with the assistance of AV Network/Inhouse.

The entertainment for the evening was provided by awardwinning Cape Town comedian David Newton, who had the crowd in stitches with a mixture of material from his bestselling shows: Defending the Laid Man, Politically Incorrect and Laugh. Once again, thank you to our sponsors: The Gauteng Film Commission, Radisson Blu, Panalux, Inhouse VTM and AV Network.

The next Monthly Wrap will take place on 29 October 2009 at Big Apple in Darling Street, Cape Town with entertainment provided by multi-lingual comedian Nik Rabinowitz. Join us in celebrating ten years of Amazing Spaces.

“I just wanted to congratulate you on your monthly wrap sessions. They are fun, informative and a great informal networking platform. I have reconnected with people that I haven’t seen for a while, and there may well be work coming from this . I think it is also great that you are able to get sponsors who provide the drinks and snacks, that is a bonus and an incentive. So well done, and we look forward to the next one.” Rachel Young, Razor Sharp Films/ Ten10films
