Cape Town’s Boss Models and Management held a photographic exhibition in October 2009 at the Bell-Roberts Gallery entitled A Moment in Time, to benefit the Missing Children SA initiative, headed by actor/presenter Nico Panagio.
The glitzy exhibition was attended by the who’s who of the industry and featured some of the country’s top photographers, who had the creative freedom to shoot a choice of faces represented by the agency.
Photographers involved in the project included Jacques Weyers, Gerda Genis, Inge Prinz, Antonia Steyn, Jonathan Taylor, Natasja Fourie, Fanie Nel, Byron Keulemans, Marguerite Oelofse, Damon Fourie, Alexa Singer, Romi Stern, Charl Marais, Mia Zergvol, Anton Robert, Bevan Daivis, Brett Rubin, Igor Polzenhagen, Justin Polkey and Milan Cronje, among others. Actors who lent their name to the initiative included Vicky Davis (The Witch of Portobello), Catriona Andrews (Finding Lenny) and Jana Strydom (7de Laan). The final images were printed on canvas and auctioned.
Negeva Norval of Boss Models and Management explains, “The idea for A Moment in Time came to us while looking at some of the greatest works produced by some of the master artists stretching over centuries. I wanted us as an agency to provide a platform whereby we could showcase the talents of our South African artists, while still giving them the freedom to be creative in a way that they prefer. After discussing it with the rest of Boss, everyone bought into the concept without hesitation, and the project was given the go ahead.” For more information, visit Boss Models and here for Bell-Roberts.
