Barry Bezuidenhout, or Barry from Magic to most people, has started his own servicing company after leaving Magic Mountain last year. He founded Magic in Motion to service the commercials industry, but now includes stills as well. Barry has some new ideas which he is currently putting into practice, such as opening a Magic in Motion office in Buenos Aires, Argentina. “South America doesn’t compete with us and we in turn don’t service the American market.” For this reason Barry intends to foster a relationship with Argentina to try and get more US shoots to Cape Town. He adds, “To get on a plane and work from Buenos Aires is not difficult. I don’t understand why our guys are not doing the same, working in the reverse. Why are they not going over there to get the clients? You have to be more competitive and global and be able to produce anywhere in the world.”
