SSETA: The Entertainment Master Class

The Entertainment Master Class, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to education for executives in the entertainment television industry, will be offering its fourth module in South Africa this year.

The Entertainment Master Classes offer a unique executive education programme created by the industry for the industry.

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, seek advice and guidance, share ideas, and build rewarding networks and professional alliances in this vibrant global community.

Following the change in the broadcast industry, the Entertainment Master Class’ curriculum has expanded to provide participants with the creative and economic skills base for the emerging opportunities of multiplatform production in a truly convergent, interactive and social media environment.

The programme is divided into four modules, each five days long, that take place in four different countries. Attendance at the first three modules is required in order to graduate. The fourth module is optional. This year the structure of the programme will be as follows:

Module 1: Games and Game Shows will take place from 7-13 May 2010 in Berlin/Germany

Module 2: Reality, Documentary & Factual Entertainment will take place from 13-19 June 2010 in Banff/Canada

Module 3: Sitcom and Comedy will take place from 17-23 September 2010 in Lucerne/Switzerland

Module 4: Entertainment Management will take place in mid-October 2010 in South Africa. The exact dates and venue will be announced shortly.

Each year, up to 30 participants are selected to take part in the programme. Selection is based on a candidate’s professional achievements and career objectives.

The participation fee for the 2010 programme, including didactic material, hotel accommodation and full board, is EUR 13,500. For more information about the Master Class Programme, click here.
