Is it too late to sign up to study at CityVarsity? Definitely not! We’re allowing first year students to sign up to join us right up until the end of Orientation Week; so you have until Friday the 24th of February to join us. If you’re not sure what we’re all about, why not join us on Open Day? What is Open Day? Open Day gives potential students, parents and fee-payers a chance to meet and greet staff members and see some student work on display. Typically run on Saturday mornings until 1PM at the latest, queries include course application requirements and structure as well as how to tackle the registration process. When is your next Open Day? On Saturday, the 28th of January, from 9-12 midday, both our Cape Town and Newtown campus doors will be open to the public. Where is CityVarsity Newtown? Situated in Newtown, on the corner of Carr Street and Quinn Street (GPS co-ordinates S26° 12.0782, E28° 1.7072) Where is CityVarsity Cape Town? We have 2 campuses (2 minutes’ walk away from each other) in Cape Town, each of which hosting different departments. For simplicity’s sake, we host our Open Days at our campus at 32 Kloof Street. Situated between the iconic ETV studios and the Kloof Street Kwik Spar, you can’t miss us halfway up Kloof Street in the Gardens area of the Cape Town City Bowl. All our first year students begin their Orientation Week (Monday 20th until Friday 24th) to get you up to scratch on your class schedules, venues, procedures, schedules and surroundings…oh and some fun as well. All our returning 2nd and 3rd Year Students Register on Wednesday 22nd...and everybody will kick-start their Academic Year on Monday 27th February. B.A. Degree vs. Diploma – Confused? As of 2012, CityVarsity Cape Town will offer B.A. Degrees not only in Film & Television, but also in Acting. Both of these fields of study can also be approached in a more practical manner via our Diploma and Advanced Diplomas option. MyCiti Bus Service Our Cape Town students will soon benefit from the famous MyCiti Bus Service, since a bus stop is being built right outside our Kloof Street campus front door. This innovation (operational within the next couple of weeks) will make your way to and from school that much simpler. We will have a variety of bank advisers available during Orientation Week to present you with a variety of student loan options. Do you have any accommodation advice? Staff at both Newtown and Cape Town campuses will be able to talk to you about what the majority of students do for accommodation. While we have no official ties to any accommodation places, we can say that some basic student accommodation is available just 5 Minutes from our Cape Town campuses (at both Kloof and Park Road) at 179 Loop Street.
