New Film Lab at Media Film Service
Film Lab in Cape Town is the new independent front-end motion picture laboratory; catering for both commercial and long form film formats. The new lab is based at Media Film Service in Paarden Eiland.
Lab manager Derick Olivier is confident of their film processing capabilities. “We provide services and specialise in all aspects of 16mm and 35mm negative film processing. All the processing is done on a 50 ft. per minute ECN machine manufactured by Calder. Kodak kit chemicals are used to ensure processing consistency on a day-to-day basis,” said Olivier.
A highly trained and skilled team of technicians meticulously maintains the machine. The team consisting of Olivier, Antonio Mendonca and Nico Dumas have a combined experience of no less than 40 years in the industry and have worked on the biggest productions shot in Cape Town over the last decade.
Opening Special: If you use the new Film Lab before the end of April, you receive 30% off your next 16mm or 35mm commercial processed at the lab. “We are committed to film and promise to deliver the highest quality standards,” said Olivier.
