Moonlighting have been focusing on production services for commercials, feature films, TV, doccies and stills since 1989, providing solutions from a wide range of location and production options through our bases in South Arica (where we began), Chile and Romania.

WHERE WERE YOU TEN YEARS AGO? 2 000 was a great year for Moonlighting. We were recently extricated from a listed company and rejuvenated after the process. New producers came on board and we grew from there to be the company we are today. There is generally something positive that comes from trying times.
HOW HAVE THINGS CHANGED IN THE LAST DECADE? 10 years ago, we were the only southern hemisphere destination worth visiting, as South America hadn't come online yet. The commercials service market was still growing. We are now in a mature market and have had to be a lot more competitive. Long form is on a strong growth path through, having added good government incentives to an already attractive shooting environment.
BIGGEST LEARNING CURVE? Reinvent yourself without moving away from you core product. Work smarter and continually improve. In the features market, we have had to become co-produces to gain access to the subsidy programs. Coming from a pure service-based business, it was a fairly radical advance.
BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT? System development, like an online order and bookkeeping system. We have built a flexible, responsive and highly skilled staff complement.
HIGHLIGHT? Our success expanding into Chile. We had learnt a lot from operating in Romania and used this to our best advantage.
TEN YEAR GOAL? To remain at the top of the pile in production services and find complementary, new ways tp grow, like ReelPay, our payroll company, and Grinder, our tabletop company. To keep finding ways to manage that growth and keep all Moonlighting participants happy with their association with us.
