In attendance at the graduation ceremony were representatives from the Garden Route District Municipality, the MICT SETA and The National Youth Development Agency. Entrepreneurship Development forms a part of the hands-on, industry-linked Skills Programme.

Newly appointed chairman of the Garden Route Film Office, Phillip de Vries is excited about the developments in the region to make it a film friendly destination that offers a comprehensive service to incoming productions including a range of locations, equipment rental crew and world-class support services.

A delegation from the Garden Route are at the 2019 Durban Film Mart to market the region and the Knysna Film Festival.

The festival will take place from 29th October to 2nd November this year. The festival director, Patrick Walton says the event will attract business to the Garden Route and celebrate local and international film in one of the most beautiful towns in South Africa.

A selection of graduates of the iKasi Media programme will be employed by the festival, and others encouraged to attend a full programme of masterclasses and screenings.
